Why This Matters
A bermed or flat shoulder acts like a dam — water pools at the road edge, softens the base,
and accelerates rutting and edge failure. This analysis uses OAK-D stereo depth (not brightness)
to measure the actual shoulder profile in millimeters above or below road level at 0–6" and 6–12" out.
BERM = shoulder is physically raised, blocking drainage.
POOLING = shoulder dips below road, water collects there.
Both conditions require grading.
