Why This Matters
In a wildfire, hydrant access can determine whether a home is saved or lost. Knowing where hydrants are located — and which ones have been verified — is critical information for both residents and emergency responders.
Green hydrants have been flow-tested by Lake Durango Water Authority and are confirmed operational. Yellow hydrants are of unknown status — they appear in La Plata County GIS data but have not been independently tested or verified.
